    Project Manager/Site Superintendent Needed for BMC

    We are a small Design/Build company working on residential and small commercial building and design services in Portland Oregon with a focus on high performance building.  Our scope of projects include bath remodels, additions, kitchens, whole house remodels, ADU’s, and high performance/Passive House custom homes. We are looking for an experienced project manager/site superintendent to run multiple projects at a time, someone who is like minded, has great communication skills, and shares a common love of the built environment, design, and enjoys working as a member of a team.

    Responsibilities:

    -Maintain complete and thorough understanding of all aspects of a project

    -Be in open communication with Clients on a regular basis

    -Manage and coordinate subcontractors including contracts, schedule, budgets, etc

    -Assign tasks to laborers and other employees on site

    -Monitor work to ensure high quality, efficiency, and all quality controls

    -Maintain job site records including drawings, specs, and other related correspondence

    -Call for inspections

    -Order and stage materials, including quality control

    -Coordinate work with Architects, Engineers, and Owner

    -Assist office staff with invoicing, job costing, and record keeping

    -Meet with subcontractors to do project walk throughs, assist with project development meetings

    -Maintain a clean and safe workplace

    -Maintain and update schedule

    -Write change orders, get client approvals, and adjust gross contract amount

    -Participate in weekly staff meetings

    Skills/Experience:

    -5 years minimum experience as Site Superintendent/Project Manager

    -5 years carpentry experience

    -Experience with custom residential construction

    -Excellent communication skills a high priority

    -Ability to lead a team and work collaboratively

    -Self-starter with ability to make smart decisions, who knows when to ask questions

    -Ability to adapt to changes

    -Take pride in doing the best work possible

    -Be willing to do some general labor, carpentry, and other misc. duties

    -Have a vehicle and tools necessary to perform job

    -Experience with contracts, budgets, and management of employees

    -Proficient in excel, word, and helpful if familiar with Google Sketchup and/or Sage Contractor

    This is a full time position.
